What are the commonly used materials of valve body?

July 16, 2020

1. Cast iron: Ductile iron is generally suitable for low-pressure valves with a pressure of PN≤4 between -30℃-350℃.

2.Carbon steel (WCA. WCB, WCC): suitable for use between -29-425℃ in low and medium pressure valves.

3. Low-temperature carbon steel (LCB): suitable for low-temperature valves between -46-345℃.

4. Alloy steel (WC6,WC9) : suitable for valves with high temperature and high pressure non-corrosive medium operating temperature between -29-595℃. C5, C12 are suitable for valves with high temperature and high pressure corrosive medium between 29-650 ℃.

5. Austenitic stainless steel: CF8M is suitable for valves with corrosive media whose working temperature is between -196-600℃.

6. Monel alloy: mainly suitable for valves containing hydrofluoric acid medium.

7. Hastelloy: mainly used in valves with strong corrosive media such as dilute sulfuric acid.

8. Titanium alloy: mainly suitable for valves with various strong corrosive media.

9. Plastics, ceramics: These non-metallic materials mainly have the characteristics of strong corrosion resistance, and some have the advantages that metal materials do not have. They are usually used in working conditions where the working pressure and temperature are very low.
